Tea is definitely one of the many luxuries in life, especially if you've found an absolutely delectable kind that you simply can't say no to. For me, these are pink teas, I think I just love how they all have a similarly sweet taste and are super enjoyable any time of the day, and also any weather which is an important factor when you live on the south coast of Australia believe it or not.

Out of all of the tea's I've ever given a try, these three teas are always my go to's. One of them isn't pink either (I know right, shock horror ;) ) and its delicious!

#one. My all time favorite tea is Lipton's Infusion Temptation Summer Fruits. It's just perfect!
#two. In a very close second place is Lipton's Peach Mango. Every cup is like a blast to the past and into summer (imagination is probably required though).
#three. And third but not least, is Twining's Raspberry, Strawberry & Loganberry flavored infused tea. This isn't as sweet as the Temptation Summer Fruits but is still an enjoyable warm drink.

What tea do you have a soft spot for?
XOXO,
Renee.

Happy 1st Blogiversay!
Wow, an entire year has past since the creation of my little blog. Wow.
Today, on the 16th of May (ooo the date sounds nice too!) 'Renee Alexis' celebrates it's first birthday :)

My initial purpose for my little blog, was to have a place to jot down any thoughts on absolutely any subject and that it would be a little bit of an escape. Over 12 months, it's had a couple of name changes, theme alterations and you guys have all joined the family ! Which I am forever grateful for :)

Today 'Renee Alexis' is my pride and joy, practically my baby. Through its growth I've discovered the needs of this child, so far they've been:
~passion
~nurturing
~organisation
~& love
But I've also realized that there is no right or wrong way to blog, which is such a positive part of it all.

And getting the right balance takes practice like anything else in life.

Time truly does fly when you're enjoying yourself. This little corner of the internet has proved that to me countless times .

Although the purpose hasn't changed, I feel as though blogging has become more meaningful to me since other people are actually interested in what I write. And I can promise you all it's such an amazing feeling.
I love my blog immensely, and it's readers just as much. I never expected to find myself in such a supportive community of incredibly bright, talented women and I am absolutely thrilled to be involved in such a great space. You guys seriously mean the world to me.

Cheers to one year, and may there be many more exciting ones ahead.
Love, Renee.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the glorious mum's out there! I hope you've been spoiled rotten and hugged & kissed countless times by your loved ones.
Mothers day is such a fabulous holiday and makes that one Sunday of the year extra enjoyable, especially our beautiful mothers.

There are so many different lovely ways to celebrate this special occasion, whether its picnicking, going out for a coffee at her favorite cafe, or the annual family get together at her house, every mother was treated like a queen this mothers day. :)

One thing I noticed on my drive to see my wonderful grandmother through the Dandenong Mountains, was how popular flower vans must be. I couldn't believe how many there were! Within an hours worth of driving, I had seen 20 individual vans parked on the side of the road selling bunches of flowers, and all of them had at least two other cars parked next to them, usually there was about five! So, if any of you are considering selling some flowers on the street curb, Mothers Day is the time to be in business. ;)

Happy Mothers Day!
XOXO,
Renee.

Finding the right products for our face and hair can be tricky, and everybody goes through the same process of finding them. Its takes ages, possibly even years of trial and error, second opinions, unruly breakouts and bad hair days, yet when you find "the product" its probably just as wonderful as finding "the one".

Throughout my experiences with skin care products, hair care serums and cosmetics, I've only very rarely loved a product enough to go back to it twice or more since I've got sensitive skin that tends to break out a hell of a lot. But, through all my searching, I have found those beauty products that just work and I will fall back on until some other magical products are uncovered.

So without further ado, here are all of the beauty products close to my heart.

In the above photo I have my favorite leave in conditioner/ mousse The Most by Make, Euphoria by Calvin Klein and Radiance boosting scrub by Garnier. All play a humongous role in my usual night routine and this particular perfume goes everywhere with me, it makes me feel like a princess (or at least smell like one). It's light fragrance reminds me so much of spring for some reason, it's not too floral either. It's subtly perfect.
As for Make's miracle mousse, the praise I can give it is soso immense I could probably rave on and on about it for an entire post. I use it once every four or so days straight after a shower and just spritz the mousse onto my hands then run it through the midlengths and ends of my towel dried hair. It makes it gorgeously shiny and soft, plus the packaging is so quirky. Basically one word, amazing. Then there's the Radiance Boosting Scrub, equally as fabulous as the leave in conditioner, and it smells incredibly zesty and citrus-y. This scrub has actually improved my breakouts so much, also redness around my T-zone has almost completely disappeared since using this product. I trust this scrub incredibly, since I no longer feel the need to wear foundation or tinted moisturizers to school and even work.

Lucas Pawpaw Ointment.
I love this, it's my favorite beauty item I've purchased yet. It makes my lips gorgeously soft and literally removes all the cracks within a few hours. Whenever I have a paper cut or any other kind of wound, it helps it heal faster and reduces the pain almost instantly as well. It's. Perfect.
This little zit zapper is also a huge helping hand in my everyday routine. It's called Rescue Me! by a company called Formula 10.0.6, this brand has really grown on me, this is by far my favorite product made by them though. I apply this after washing my face before going to bed, overnight it pretty much reduces redness and isn't as noticeable when tinted moisturizer is dabbed on top.
The Body Shop has released Moisture Foundation SPF15, I myself was a little late on the band wagon, but I eventually invested in a bottle and have not regretted it since. I heard great reviews on it and decided to join everyone in using this little beauty :) My shade is #04 and it looks so incredibly natural on.

My idea of perfect mascara is natural looking, full, long and defined eyelashes. And this mascara delivers on all those levels. I discovered this beauty early last year and have repurchased it countless times not only for myself, but also as gifts for a few friends and other people close to my heart. The Falsies Volum' Express Flared by Maybelline is the best mascara I've ever owned. :)

Eye Definer in the shade black by Face of Australia is my favorite eyeliner by far. Its creamy and glides on smoothly, the two aspects of an eyeliner that make it fabulous and a please to use.
What are your all time beauty favorites?

XOXO,
Renee

Hey there girls :)

I just recently made a post for a fellow blogger, Melodie Benson -I'll link it here, here and here- (which I am super duper excited about!). It's all about self love and embracing you in every way possible. It's such an important matter to women these days, we're not appreciating ourselves as much as we all should. We're all guilty of it and have bad days, of course, but in between those moments, falling in love with yourself is so important.

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for this opportunity. Thank you, thank you, thank you Mel.
Let me know what you think of my guest post and why not say hi to the fabulous Melodie Benson while you're over there :)

XOXO,
Renee

Happy Friday everyone!
This week has been a bit of a whirlwind, and i've been running around like a headless chicken. None the less, It was also a very reflective week, so I decided to to a 10 things that I smiled about this week blog post.
It's been a while since i've done a post like this, and I think it's well overdue for one :)
These are ten things that made me happy this week!

one. My sister turned 12! What a happy little chappy she was, happiness was literally contagious on Monday the 28th :)
two. Okay guys, I've found the song that makes me feel completely and utterly infinite, like the tunnel song from The Perks Of Being A Wallflower did for Charlie, Sam, Patrick and anyone else who cried in that last scene. Its just, ugh, unexplainably perfect. Literally. If there's a song that ever i've recommended , this is the one that just needs to be played by everyone. It's called Big Black Car by Gregory Alen Isakov. Please just take the 3.37 minutes to admire this piece of art. Seriously, I can sit anywhere listening to this song and still grin an idiot :)
three. Extravagant hot chocolates, the kind with delicious creamy liquidy goodness and whipped cream carelessly sprayed on top. So, delicious :)
four. I don't really care much for the weather that accompanies the months of winter, but there are a few benefits to these chilly months that i've found. They are big, big, big, fluffy, soft, blankets to cuddle up to on the sofa with the fireplace on. mmm so warm and snuggly :)
five. Lately i've been going for walks early on in the mornings and if I'm not too disoriented with tiredness i'll go for a run along this gorgeous path that takes you on a short journey to either the sea or if you go in the other direction, a board walk over the creek. It really is a magnificent sight at seven am :)
six. Just recently I visited a university in Melbourne and while I was there, out of all places to find a fantastic cookbook, I discover the best book of recipes there ever was for baking. So far i've made a few decadent treats from this magical book, but my favourite is by far the Coconut and Cherry Muffins. I kid you not these are the best muffins my little stomach has ever come across. The secret recipe will be shared with you all very, very soon so stay tuned :)
seven. Lemon and mint water. It's fabulous :)
eight. Tweaking my bedroom and adding subtle decorations around the room, they've really lifted it up and created this extremely lightweight, calming place to be :)
nine. Long car trips. I love them, but lately it's been all I want to do. All you have to do is think about the present, what's happening in that exact moment, and with the right CD on, they've been incredibly invigorating for some brilliant unusual reason :)
ten. My hair is fairly long, thin, brown and curly. My hair has also been having the tendancy to fall out a hell of a lot (seriously, if I gave someone a hug they'll have one or two hairs of mine on their shoulder, sorry people who've recieved any hugs before last week ;) ) but, all is not lost head! I have discovered a miracle leave in conditioner that I rub through the ends and midlengths of my stubborn hair and voilah! Its stopped falling out so immensely! This hair product is called 'The Most' by a fairly new Australian brand called 'Make'. Love, love, love :)

What's made you happy this week?
Hope you're all good and well :)
XOXO,
Renee.
